Our Authentication Standard

Every autographed item sold at Nicks Sports Autographs is authenticated by an independent, third-party authentication service before it is listed for sale. Every item in our collection carries a certificate from PSA/DNA, Beckett Authentication, or JSA; the three most trusted names in the hobby; with a unique certification number that can be verified by anyone at any time.

PSA/DNA Authentication

PSA/DNA is the most widely recognized autograph authentication service in the world. Part of Collectors Universe, the same company behind PSA grading, PSA/DNA has authenticated millions of signed items across sports, entertainment, music, and historical categories. Their experts compare submitted signatures against an extensive reference database of known-authentic examples built over decades.

The majority of our inventory carries PSA/DNA authentication. Each authenticated item receives a unique certification number embedded in a tamper-proof holographic sticker applied directly to the item. PSA/DNA no longer issues physical certification cards; authentication now consists of the holographic sticker and a permanent digital record in their online database.

How to verify a PSA/DNA certificate

  • Locate the PSA/DNA certification number in the product listing; it appears in the authentication bullet points on every product page
  • Visit psacard.com/cert
  • Enter the certification number in the search field
  • The result will display the item description and confirmation of authenticity directly from PSA’s database

Beckett Authentication

Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) is one of the most respected authentication services in the hobby, with particular strength in sports and music memorabilia. Beckett was acquired by Collectors (PSA’s parent company) in December 2025, further cementing the credibility of both services under shared ownership. Their team of expert authenticators examines each item against verified exemplars and issues a certificate with a unique serial number.

Items in our collection carrying Beckett authentication each come with a Certificate of Authenticity bearing a unique certification number.

JSA Authentication

James Spence Authentication (JSA) is a well-established third-party service with expertise across a broad range of autograph categories. JSA was acquired by CCG (Certified Collectibles Group) in 2022. A small number of items in our collection carry JSA certification, verifiable at jsa.cc.

Our standard

Every signed item we sell meets one condition without exception: it carries a certification number from PSA/DNA, Beckett, or JSA that anyone can verify independently. We do not sell items authenticated only by a house certificate, a hologram without a verifiable database entry, or a letter of authenticity from an unrecognized source.

Many sellers issue their own certificates of authenticity. We do not, because a self-issued certificate is only as trustworthy as the seller issuing it. Third-party authentication removes that uncertainty entirely; the verification is between you and PSA, Beckett, or JSA directly, with no reliance on our word alone.

All items ship free within the United States, carefully packaged to arrive in the same condition they left us.
